James White’s Fort will host a hands-on Herb Workshop with Jim Buckenmyer on Saturday, April 16, 2016.

Last year we had a great time building a raised bed Herb Garden at James White’s Fort. This year Jim will cover all of the many uses for herbs – how where and when to harvest, how to prepare them for use, how to make teas, tinctures, salves and a few other preparations.

Herbs had so many uses in our history that an herb garden was indispensable. This will be a hands on workshop where you will have the chance to learn by doing. Participants are encouraged to bring a potluck dish to share with the other participants.

Jim is a longtime participant in the reenacting community with immense knowledge in late-18th and early-19th century culture.

The cost is $25 per person, with money raised going toward educational programming at James White’s Fort. Space is limited to 20 people, so reserve yours now! To register, call 865-525-6514, purchase via the events calendar, or email SpecialEvents@JamesWhitesFort.org.

James White’s Fort is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit. The Fort is not owned by the City, County or State.
