Cherokee Heritage Day

Guests will have an opportunity to visit a Cherokee campsite, interact with members of the militia, tour the fort, and see a variety of pioneer skills displayed.
Scheduled for 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday, June 27th, the event is once again being offered free to the public. Cherokee Heritage Day is a cooperative effort between the James White’s Fort Association and Indian Creek Productions, Inc.
Schedule of Events:
10:00 am – Gates Open
10:30 am – The Changing Roles of Men and Women in 18th Century Cherokee Society
11:00 am – Cherokee Storytelling
11:45 am – Cherokee flute music
Noon – Traditional Cherokee Dancing
12:30 pm – Prelude to the Treaty of the Holston
1:15 pm – Treaty of the Holston Signing Ceremony
1:45 pm – Aftermath of the Treaty of the Holston
2:15 pm – Traditional Cherokee Dancing
3:00pm – Gates Close
